Mission
Our Mandarin Immersion Program aims to be the most effective way to learn Chinese. Our mission is to enable program participants to communicate clearly in real life situations in Chinese with solid Chinese knowledge after one semester's training.

Features
Our Mandarin Immersion Program consists of two parts: Class Training and the Real Life Instruction. The Class Training integrates all different skills of the language: speaking, listening, writing, reading, grammar, vocabulary and phonetics. The Real Life Instruction is held every two weeks exclusively to participants. Instructions are carried out in real life situations with one subject each section. Subjects include eating, transportation, theatre, shopping etc.

Curriculum
Classes are divided into 3 basic levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Under each level, there are 2 sub-levels so that each student can be placed at the perfect learning environment that suits you the most. A placement test will be conducted after enrolment.

Curriculums are designed to meet the needs of each proficiency level and the program length to ensure you progress rapidly and able to communicate in Chinese in a more effective and efficient manner.

Electives include Skills for HSK, Chinese Martial Arts, Chinese Cooking, Calligraphy, Painting, Seal Cutting, Music, Movie Appreciation, Chinese Tourism and Culture, Shanghai Dialect, etc.

Advanced Class Main Courses
Advanced Chinese, Audio-visual Chinese and Chinese Speaking, Advanced Chinese Extensive Reading, Advanced Spoken Chinese, Survey of Literature, Applied Writing, An Introduction to Chinese Culture, Modern Chinese Vocabulary, Modern Chinese Grammar, Modern Chinese Rhetoric, Business Chinese, Chinese Movies.

  • All the classes integrate all the different skills of the language: listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, phonetics and vocabulary.

  • grasp 2,500 words and 1,205 Chinese characters
  • having quite good listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities equivalent to Chinese middle school graduate

Advanced

 

  • Enhancing students’ overall Chinese language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing)
  • helping students contact to and understanding further and wider of Chinese culture and society.
  • grasp more than 3,500 words and 1,550 Chinese characters
  • Able to grasp basic Chinese broadcasting and TV programs as well as newspapers
  • equivalent to HSK Intermediate A Level or above.

Placement Test
Classes are divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced with 5 sub-levels under each level. An overall placement test including reading, writing, speaking and listening is carried out at the beginning of the program in order to place you in the most suitable environment. Beginners don’t need to take the test.

Airport Transfer
With flight details, we can provide free airport arrival-pick-up service to program participant.

Accommodation
Accommodation is optional at extra cost.

Standard campus dorms for single and double occupation are available on first come first served basis. All rooms are fully furnished with airconditioner, TV, telephone, bed, desk, book shelf and private bathroom with 24 hours hot water. Public kitchen and washing machine are provided at each level.

Accommodation checks in one day before program start-date, checks out the next day to program finish-date.
