Program Description
Study Chinese and experience its culture in multi cities during Summer holiday. Learn Chinese and practice the language during trips and excursions in Beijing and Xi'an. 5-week Chinese study followed by 1-week Travel Excursions in Beijing and Xi'an. Transcripts and certificate available. Program starts in Shanghai and ends in Beijing. We will assist you with transportation from Beijing to your departure city.

Features
The Mandarin Immersion Study-Travel Combination Program consists of two parts: Language Training and Travel Excursion. Language Training covers Class Training and the Real Life Instruction. Travel Excursion occurs when classes finish. We will take you to the heart of China – Beijing and X’an. Excursions, sightseeing will be organized.

The Class Training integrates all different skills of the language: phonetics, speaking, listening, writing, reading, grammar and vocabulary. The Real Life Instruction is held once a week exclusively to participants. Instructions occur in real life settings with one subject in each section. Subjects include eating, transportation, theatre, shopping, job hunting, seeing a doctor etc.

Curriculum
Classes are divided into 3 basic levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. A placement test will be conducted after enrolment.

Curriculums are designed to meet the needs of each proficiency level and the program length to ensure you progress rapidly and able to communicate in Chinese in a more effective and efficient manner.

Electives including Calligraphy and Chinese Painting are held once a week.

Main Courses
Beginner: Phonetic training, frequently-used vocabulary and sentence patterns, and the most essential and frequently-used communication skills in daily communication activities.

Intermediate: Essential Chinese Grammar, Vocabulary, Special Sentence Patterns used in oral expression, Oral Chinese in relatively-complicated environments and settings

Advanced: Advanced Chinese, Audio-visual Chinese and Chinese Speaking, Advanced Chinese Extensive Reading, Advanced Spoken Chinese, Chinese Movies

  • All the classes integrate all the different skills of the language: listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, phonetics and vocabulary.

Placement Test
Classes are divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced three levels. An overall placement test including reading, writing, speaking and listening is carried out at the beginning of the program in order to place you in the most suitable environment. Beginners don’t need to take the test.

Airport Transfer
With flight details, we can provide free airport arrival-pick-up service to program participant.

Accommodation
Accommodation is optional at extra cost.

Standard campus dorms for single and double occupation are available on first come first served basis. All rooms are fully furnished with airconditioner, TV, telephone, bed, desk, book shelf and private bathroom with 24 hours hot water. Public kitchen and washing machine are provided at each level.

Accommodation checks in one day before program start-date, checks out the next day to program finish-date.
